Support Raashan and go to the Party!!!! Click on the cover to get it! or go here: Click on “Lambada” to start the FREE song download SOUL POWER 1. Mobstar Life-Produced by Woodstock mixed/mastered or generally loved up “at the last damn minute” by my homie headnodic. Soul Power Thirteen original songs mostly recorded in early 2009. After touring the United States to promote my first solo album The Push, I discovered that I wanted to add more bangin’ songs to my live set. Soul Power is the result. When I I say “soul power”, I’m talking about about what gives my soul, my spirit power–which is music! This project was especially born out of all that I learned being on the road so I have to give thanks to the folks who have made me feel at home while away from home; who have blessed me with food, shelter, ciphers, laughter, conversation, money, memories, general nonsense, and love. Also mad thanks to the artists who blessed this project with their talent. Please support! Lastly check out all the projects coming from my Crown City Rockers crew! Our new album coming in the Fall 2009. Hit me up and let me know what you think. www.myspace.com/raashanahmad Posted in RAASHAN AHMAD

Long-time homies Thes One and Double K (better known as PEOPLE UNDER THE STAIRS) are celebrating 10 years of making fresh hip hop music together this year. Somewhere during that decade, their path crossed with Crown City’s and we’ve made some very memorable collaborations. They will be ringing in their 10 year Anniversary on December 19th 2008 at the EL REY in Los Angeles California. And the 20th in Boulder Colorado at the Fox theater. —————————————————- Their new highly acclaimed (and all around dope) album “FUN DMC” is in stores now. It features Kat O1O, and Headnodic playing bass and keys all over it. Their single “the Wiz” is the new Australian national anthem (…well it should be). Kat O1O seems like she used the intro & outro of this song as an opportunity to pay tribute to Australia ’s own Sven Libaek (composer of some of the dopest film scores of underwater documentaries). Their video captures the song perfectly. ———————————————————— Released in support of their “Fun DMC” record, was the “Funner than Leather” Mixtape (((AVAILABLE FOR FREE DOWNLOAD BY CLICKING RIGHT HERE))) Here is a joint from that mixtape featuring Raashan Ahmad: ———————————————————— Other choice cuts from the collective catalog you could check for are: Raashan Ahmad and Thes One - “Doin’ It 12″ single” (on Om records) Mission: “Home” 12″ single (Om Records) - Produced by Thes One Thes One - “Lifestyle Marketing” full-length album (featuring Headnodic on bass) (Tres Records) Kat played on their Stepfather Record… Headnodic Played on OST… Thes did a remix for the first Crown City 12″… Thes mixed Kat’s album… BLAH BLAH BLAH!!! You get it. We like making music with these cats. If you haven’t checked em yet… CHECK EM ————————————————- We’ll leave you with Thes One chopping up and freaking a Target commercial with Headnodic playing bass: Posted in HEADNODIC, KAT O1O, Music, RAASHAN AHMAD

Here’s a remix I did on tour. We’ve done a lot of the demos on our new album in the backseats of our tour-van. It helps to maintain sanity on all the long drives. I hope you like the super-gritty drum tones we got. It’s simply a Max MacVeety break we recorded in the balcony of a club, with only ONE mic on his drums cranked WAAYYYY beyond the distortion point. I love gritty… ———————————————————————— OH while I’m here, a quick anecdote… I went with Max and the homie Dave the other night, to go see the almighty FISHBONE at the Independent in SF. We’ve all seen them hecka times so we knew it was going to be something to remember. Anyhow, I decided it’d be fun to do some stage-diving. I climbed up, threw up the horns, then dove back into the crowd. Angelo (the lead singer) then pulled me right back on stage, put me in a friendly headlock, then had me sing the chorus to “Alcoholic” with him (one of my favorites of theirs). I’m kinda mic shy so I did the best I could, dove back on to the crowd and swam back to Max and Dave to ask them how much of an ass I looked like. Moral of the story is: if you haven’t seen Fishbone yet, GO! Seacrest out M.F.ers Posted in Audio Downloads, Crown City Rockers, HEADNODIC, MAX MACVEETY, Music, RAASHAN AHMAD

We couldn’t be more juiced to announce that Raashan Ahmad’s new video for his track ‘Peace’ has finally dropped and is ready and waiting to be consumed by the hip-hop loving public. Throughout his new album, “The Push,” Raashan echoes the themes and sounds of the roots of hip-hop music, intertwining social and political trials and tribulations with personal struggles and discovery. The ‘Peace’ video’s vintage vibe runs smoothly together with Raashan Ahmad’s thoughtful lyrics and classic beats. With the world in a current state of panic, Raashan is preaching peace on an individual and a global level. Combining the creative forces of director Eric A. Leppo and the passion behind Raashan’s lyrics leads to the creation of this dope video. When describing the collaboration process Leppo has said, “We realized we were both independently trying to get some similar messages across so it made a lot sense to combine forces through this project. To do justice to the topic of peace in our war- filled times, I could see from the start this would need to be a dense four minutes of animation visually and ideologically. After listening to the song and talking with Raashan about it, I came to see the song as an appeal for peace to the world, and at the same time as also a huge thought provoker, doing everything from prodding us to think about why someone might say “Peace!” instead of “bye,” to making us consider the general concepts of peace and conflict in and among different countries, classes, religions, time periods, races, species and beliefs.” There is no doubt that the song and video do the message of ‘Peace’ mad justice!
